COMPLETE LINE OF LIQUID NITROGEN
FREEZING, CHILLING AND COOLING SYSTEMS

Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. FOOD TECHNOLOGY GROUP

Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc.“KRYOSHIELD” series of Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) systems are designed specifically, unlike other similar systems, to reduce LN2 consumption and maintenance. The (-3200F) temperature used to quick-freeze the product will envelop the products original qualities and fluids. Hence, no weight and/or flavor loss.
Our freezers require a fraction of the capital investment of comparable mechanical ammonia systems. All our equipment is built according USDA specifications.

I -        “KRYOSHIELD” Tunnel Freezers

  • Straight in line tunnel freezer. Ideal for freezing beef, poultry and fish patties, pizza, fish fillets, bakery goods, egg rolls and many more

The “KRYOSHIELD” tunnels are designed to optimize each particular application to guarantee the minimum amount of LN2 used. Some applications require the spray-counter-flow technology where other applications are better served with our convection technology, cold N2 vapors only.   Within minutes your product is Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) to –200F or any temperature you specify.

  • Nitrogen is one of the most inert gases and is found in the air we breathe. The IQF product will therefore not oxidize and will not affect the taste of your products, such as with fried products for instance.

ATTRIBUTES

  • Very small "foot print"

  • Low maintenance

  • Very short processing time

  • Modular design can grow with your future requirements

  • All Stainless Steel 304/316 design

  • Recommended to Freeze, Chill or Cool

II -        “KRYOSHIELD TRI-DEK” Tunnel Freezers:

  • The “KRYOSHIELD TRI-DEK” tunnels have three belts stacked one above the other and are independently driven. The applications for this design are numerous. However, if the product is not suitable for tumbling or is sensitive to deformation, you should select the straight tunnel to do your freezing. Pizza for instance should not be processed in the TRI-DEK tunnel. Very popular with the berry industry.
ATTRIBUTES
  • The LN2 consumption is less than the straight in-line freezer of the same capacity
  • The TRI-DEK tunnel has a larger freezing capacity
  • Used for Freezing, Chilling or Cooling.

III -      “KRYOSHIELD BATH” IMMERSION FREEZER:

  • The “KRYOSHIELD BATH” immersion freezer is designed to crust freeze a product individually quickly with a solid crust. This eliminates clumping of the product and eliminates moisture loss. Ideal for crusting meat products to be diced or sliced.

  • The bath immersion freezer can be used as a stand-alone unit or can be mated to a post cool tunnel for a more efficient use of the cold nitrogen vapors

  • The bath immersion freezer can be used in combination with a mechanical (ammonia) spiral freezer to increase production or improve product quality. Often this is done to avoid a costly plant refrigeration expansion

IV -     The “COMPACT IQF” FREEZER:

  • This freezer will reduce the equipment footprint by 50% and will increase its efficiency by +30%. The design is based on a combination of the immersion freezer with the post cool tunnel built under the immersion unit. Circulating fans will assist in utilizing the cold of the nitrogen vapors in Cryo-freezing your product.
  • Very efficient to process IQF seafood items such as shrimp.
  • Processing IQF diced products becomes routine without clumping or moisture loss.
MODEL 3000 LBS/HR. “COMPACT IQF” FREEZER:

V-               The LN2 supply system

Although the freezer does the ultimate freezing of the product and its design requires the utmost diligence, the LN2 supply system is a major component that will contribute to the efficiency of the freezing process as a whole. To be able to increase the available energy per unit of LN2, very specific requirements have been incorporated in the storage tank and the supply line to the freezer. Our LN2 freezers operate with very low pressures to guarantee the maximum BTUs delivered into the tunnel. This again results in reducing freezing cost.
